This one came together in a pretty cool way. We were already working on a lakeshore job nearby when four different neighbors stopped by to ask about their own projects. One of those conversations turned into this - a soldier course paver patio with a natural boulder wall, right on the water. That's the kind of thing you can't plan for, and honestly, it's one of the best feelings in this line of work.

The before tells the whole story. Bare, uneven ground between the dock and the cabin - nothing usable, nothing defined. A lot of lakefront properties in the Rice Lake area deal with this exact problem. The space exists, but without structure it just doesn't get used. That's exactly the gap this project was built to close.

We laid a full paver field using a soldier course border to give the patio a clean, defined edge. Then we wrapped the lakeshore side with a natural fieldstone rock wall - the kind that looks like it belongs there, not like it was dropped in. That wall pulls double duty too. It holds the grade and keeps the patio area contained without boxing it in.

The finished space is genuinely usable. Seating, a fire pit, direct access from the dock - it works as a whole. That's what good hardscape does. It turns unused ground into somewhere you actually want to spend time. With spring coming up and the schedule starting to fill, now is a solid time to get a conversation going if you've been sitting on a project like this.

We're still taking estimates for the spring season around Rice Lake and the surrounding lakes area. Bigger jobs are getting lined up now, and we're also available on weekends for smaller work and site visits. If you've had a patio or wall project in the back of your mind, reach out sooner rather than later.
